Albuquerque Public Schools Education Foundation and Nusenda Credit Union announced today they have entered into a naming rights agreement for Albuquerque Public Schools' Community Football Stadium, pending final approval on April 15, 2015. The agreement proposes renaming the stadium Nusenda Credit Union Community Stadium, along with associated marketing opportunities. The agreement also cements a long-standing partnership between the two parties, with the goal of improving educational outcomes for the APS school district.
"The agreement is a continuation of the seventy-nine year partnership between Nusenda Credit Union and Albuquerque Public Schools, our founding partner," said Terry Laudick, CEO of Nusenda Credit Union. "The stadium partnership reflects our ongoing focus on improving educational achievement and demonstrates our continuing commitment to New Mexico educators, staff, parents and students."
"Albuquerque Public Schools is excited about the proposed stadium name change reflecting the support Nusenda Credit Union has provided to APS since 1936," said Dr. Brad Winter, interim superintendent for Albuquerque Public Schools. The naming agreement will be one of our many partnerships with the credit union including APS Parent University, which offers comprehensive guidance and instruction to parents of APS students. Additionally, many teachers in our district use Nusenda Credit Union's Common Core State Standards-aligned financial capabilities curriculum which helps students learn to manage money responsibly. Based on the long-standing relationship between both organizations, we are pleased to continue the partnership with Nusenda Credit Union in the naming of our Community Stadium."
If approved, the naming rights agreement calls for Nusenda to pay an annual fee of $79,800 for 8 years with an option for renewal, and all the proceeds are to be used for improving student success. The name of the stadium will be changed to Nusenda Credit Union Community Stadium on April16, 2015, the day of the contract signing. New signage will be added to the facility later this spring. The stadium is located at 1601 Arroyo Vista Blvd. NW, near I-40 and 98th Street in Albuquerque.
Rewarding those we serve.
