Nusenda Credit Union, the largest credit union in New Mexico with more than 180,000 members, was named among the “Best Credit Unions to Work For” by Credit Union Journal, the nation’s leading provider of news and information for the credit union community. This is Nusenda's second year in a row receiving this award. The publication ranked Nusenda Credit Union No. 20 in the nation in its September 2017 issue.
“We are truly honored to have been named, again, one of the top credit unions to work for in the nation. This recognition is based on employee feedback and shows that our focus on employees is well received. We've worked hard to ensure that our employees feel valued, enjoy their work, and have the opportunity to advance professionally," said Terry Laudick, CEO of Nusenda Credit Union.
“Our employees are our strongest asset and it is through them that we are able to provide member-owners with the best financial guidance and positively impact the communities where they live and work."
The survey recognized credit unions nationwide based on merits such as employee satisfaction, employer benefits, strong company ethics and values, and employees’ confidence in the company’s direction. Nusenda Credit Union’s award-winning benefits include a full suite of medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Free employee wellness programs are designed to promote healthier employee lifestyles, and achieving wellness goals decreases monthly insurance premiums paid by employees. A free, on-site fitness center and discounted memberships at area gyms are provided. Tuition reimbursement is also available for full- and part-time employees.
Earlier this year, Nusenda was named a “Family-Friendly” business by Family Friendly New Mexico, a statewide project developed to recognize companies that have adopted policies that give New Mexico businesses an edge in recruiting and retaining the best employees. Additionally, it was nominated by its employees as an Albuquerque Journal “Top Workplace” for the fifth year in a row. CEO Laudick was also recognized for his leadership in the newspaper’s “Special Awards” category. Nusenda has also received the Readers' Choice Award for the best credit union in Albuquerque by the readers of the Albuquerque Journal for four years in a row.
