“Solid financial capability is one of the most important skills people will learn in their lifetime,”
said Nusenda Credit Union Chief Community Engagement Officer Robin Brulé. “Through our financial literacy programs and community partnerships, we are helping New Mexicans build a strong financial foundation for their families, which in turn improves the overall economic future of our state.”

The credit union and its philanthropic arm, Nusenda Foundation, have year-round financial education programming aimed at providing individuals and families the information necessary to take action and make sound financial decisions to ensure healthy financial futures. These include state-standard financial curriculum and educational resources, as well as customized programs for educational institutions.

Throughout the month of April:

  • Nusenda is partnering with the Rio Grande Educational Collaborative to host Albuquerque’s fifth annual Lemonade Day, which helps children and young teens build entrepreneurial skills through the time-tested tradition of operating a lemonade stand. Credit union branches citywide will have stands on-site on Saturday, May 4; there will also be a number of stands open at Albuquerque’s Old Town Plaza from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Learn more and sign up at Lemonade Day in Albuquerque.
  • The credit union will be holding no-cost workshops at its Albuquerque Training Center, 4100 Pan American Freeway NE.

Nusenda Credit Union will also share daily financial wellness tips on its Facebook and Twitter pages on topics such as savings, credit, education, and personal finances.
