Technology offers convenience while improving security
Nusenda Credit Union Visa credit card holders can now enjoy a newly enhanced, simplified purchasing experience with the launch of contactless Visa credit cards. These new cards allow members to complete a transaction quickly with a single tap at millions of merchants worldwide that accept contactless payments – an additional option to inserting or swiping their cards, or using a digital wallet to authorize a payment.
Nusenda is the first locally owned credit union to bring this new payment technology to its more than 200,000 member-owners. Additionally, those who wish to apply for a Nusenda Visa credit card can visit any branch and, if qualified, can have a credit card in hand in just moments – thanks to Nusenda’s advanced technology capabilities.

Contactless credit cards use short-range wireless technology to make a payment without swiping or inserting the card. The cards are also the most secure payment method available today. For every contactless transaction, a specific, one-time code is created and cannot be reused; so the transaction is more secure than swiping a card through a terminal, protecting members against fraud.
Now, members will also have an enhanced online experience. New features available in Mobile and Internet Banking will allow them to place travel alerts on their credit cards, complete balance transfers, and immediately lock and unlock their cards if lost or stolen. A SmartControls™ feature lets members establish alerts when purchases are made internationally, online, or are declined. For Nusenda Visa Platinum Rewards card holders, rewards are available, such as airline travel, gift cards, iTunes access, donations to charity, or fuel discounts. For Nusenda Visa Cash Rewards card holders, standard cash back rates increase for specific purchases in quarterly rotating categories.
