Our 40-year partnership with UNM reflects our shared belief in the power of education, innovation, and community pride. Our support, totaling more than $7 million has helped advance the UNM Center for Financial Capability, UNM Rainforest Innovate, UNM Hospital initiatives, as well as serving members in our on-campus Lobo Landing branch.

The UNM Center for Financial Capability plays a vital role in helping students build strong financial habits and navigate the ever-changing financial landscape. Through peer coaching, workshops, and financial education resources, the center empowers students to make informed decisions that support long‑term financial well‑being.

Conveniently located right in the heart of campus, the Lobo Landing branch provides students, faculty, and staff with easy access to everyday banking services. Whether it’s opening an account, financial guidance, or managing day-to-day transactions between classes, the branch is designed to meet people where they are.

From strengthening student success programs to enhancing the fan experience at beloved venues, we remain committed to helping students and the broader UNM community thrive academically and financially.

In 2026, this commitment includes a new milestone: the naming rights to University Arena as The Pit – Powered by Nusenda.

New Mexico State University - Fintech Lab at Arrowhead Center, Nusenda Center for Financial Capability, and Athletics Support

We’re proud to support New Mexico State University and the entire Aggie Community in Southern New Mexico. In 2021, Nusenda gifted the University $3 million to support the Fintech Lab at Arrowhead Center and the Nusenda Center for Financial Capability in the Student Success Center (NCFC). 

The NCFC is a resource dedicated to helping students build strong financial habits and overcome barrier on their path to a degree. Located in the Student Success Center, it offers in-person and online financia wellness support, including confidential peer coaching, workshops, and the annual Financial Wellness Fair.

The Nusenda FinTech Lab at Arrowhead Center seeks to become a center of financial technological innovations in the Southwest region. It offers valuable early-stage resources to help start-ups reduce capital requirements while the foundation of their ventures mature.

In addition to these academic and innovation focused initiatives, we recently expanded our partnership with NM State Athletics to strengthen student athlete development and elevate the fan experience. This includes new visibility at Aggie Memorial Stadium through a multi year agreement announced in 2025.

Beginning in spring 2026, we’ll deepen our on campus presence with a new, conveniently located branch inside the Corbett Center Student Union Building. This new branch will provide students, faculty, and staff with everyday banking services, financial guidance, and personalized support, meeting the NMSU community where they learn, gather, and grow.

Central New Mexico College

Our partnership with Central New Mexico Community (CNM) is rooted in expanding educational opportunity and strengthening New Mexico’s workforce. Through more than $250,000 in support for CNM’s Ingenuity Center, along with investments in dual credit programs, scholarships, and other student success initiatives, we’re helping create pathways that make higher education more accessible and affordable.

Albuquerque Public Schools - Nusenda Community Stadium

Our relationship with Albuquerque Public Schools spans nearly a century, beginning with our founding as the Albuquerque Public Schools Federal Credit Union in 1936. Today, that legacy continues through our meaningful investments that support students, educators, and families across the district.

Securing the naming rights in 2015 to Nusenda Community Stadium stands as a symbol of our commitment to our founding partner. The stadium is a place where students come together to compete, celebrate, and build lifelong memories. Our ongoing support outside of the stadium includes financial literacy programs, educator resources, and ongoing collaboration with the APS Education Foundation to expand opportunities for student success.

From the classroom to the playing field, we’re proud to stand alongside APS in creating environments where young people can learn, grow, and thrive.

 

Boys & Girls Club of Las Cruces

We’re committed to helping young people reach their full potential. Our historic $1.5 million investment announced in 2025 - the largest gift in club history - supports their major facility expansion and will allow for new safe and supportive spaces where kids can learn, grow, and build confidence. This includes a new Nusenda‑named gymnasium, a state‑of‑the‑art STEM lab, arts and learning spaces, and a first-ever dedicated teen wing. By investing in youth today, we’re helping shape the leaders of tomorrow.

The Nusenda Foundation

The Nusenda Foundation is a nonprofit organization that was established in 2015 to support and expand the credit union's phlianthropic efforts and community outreach. The foundation aims to enhance the education, health, social, and economic conditions of the communities our members live in. Over its first ten years, the foundation has invested more than $10 million through grants, sponsorships and community programs, supporting economic opportunity and essential services in our communities.

Governed by a volunteer board of directors, Nusenda Foundation's work is committed to representing the needs of our communities.

We believe that when we work together, we have the power to create positive change in our communities across New Mexico and West Texas. That's the phlisophy behind our initiatives like Community Rewards, the Financial Education Innovators Program, and our responsive Emergency Support assistance.
