Nusenda Credit Union President/CEO Joe Christian has named Michelle Dearholt as the credit union’s new executive vice president of operations, effective Oct. 22, 2019.
“As we continue to serve our more than 210,000 members and communities, our senior leadership team has evaluated the resources required for our strategic growth initiatives,” Christian said. “Michelle’s years of experience with the credit union will bring both well-rounded knowledge and innovative strategies to this position.”
Dearholt received her bachelor and master degrees in business administration from the Anderson School of Management at the University of New Mexico, where she serves as an Alumni Council board member. In 2015, she was recognized as one of New Mexico’s “Forty under 40” by Albuquerque Business First; and in 2018 was honored as one of 100 national Well-being 100 honorees by HEALTHCARE ЯEVOLUTION®, a consortium of worldwide healthcare, workplace benefits, and medical tourism organizations.
She has spent 20 years in organizational development in the financial, retail service, distribution, and manufacturing sectors; 18 of those years are with Nusenda. She started with Nusenda as a teller while in college, and progressed into multiple leadership roles during her time at the credit union. She was most recently the credit union’s chief retail and performance officer. In her new role, Dearholt will oversee the credit union’s employee experience, member experience, project and process management, and support services departments, as well as the credit union’s call center.
