Albuquerque, NM – Nusenda Credit Union announced the distribution of more than $8.5 million to their members for their participation in the credit union in 2025. Over $8.3 million was distributed in Earn Your Return bonus dividends and Community Rewards to qualifying members, and qualifying business members received more than $260,000 in Business Debit Card rewards. Member returns were automatically deposited in primary savings and checking accounts on January 28. Since 2009, more than $90 million has been returned via dividends to Nusenda’s membership.
“Supporting our members, business members, and communities is at the heart of everything we do at Nusenda,” said Michelle Dearholt, President and CEO of Nusenda Credit Union. “As a cooperative, giving back to our member‑owners is part of who we are, and one of the things that makes credit unions special. We are also working to bring new products, services, and technologies that make banking more convenient for our members. These dividends are just one way we get to say ‘thank you’ for being part of Nusenda and trusting us as your financial partner.”
Earn Your Return is a bonus dividend program based on the credit union’s economic performance as well as members’ use of credit union deposit and loan products. Members can take advantage of competitive savings and loan rates and earn cash back each year.
The Community Rewards program is designed to reward members with cash back while supporting meaningful community causes. Each time members make a purchase with their Nusenda Visa debit card and select the signature option, they earn cash back and help Nusenda and the Nusenda Foundation support hundreds of nonprofit organizations each year. These member‑driven contributions are distributed through Community Rewards grants, which advance vital community work and initiatives across New Mexico and West Texas.
In 2025, the Nusenda Foundation celebrated its 10th anniversary by providing $1,000,000 in Community Rewards grants to 108 organizations supporting the arts, community services, education, environment and wildlife, and healthcare.
