Albuquerque, NM - Nusenda Credit Union held its 90th Annual Meeting on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the Albuquerque Museum in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The meeting celebrated the Credit Union’s strong performance in 2025, as well as nine decades of people-first service in New Mexico and more recently West Texas.
Key accomplishments in 2025 included:
- Membership growing to more than 290,000.
- Assets nearing $5 billion, strengthening the Credit Union’s position as the largest locally owned credit union in New Mexico, and the 94th largest credit union in the nation.
- More than $2.6 million invested in community programs, including a historic $1,000,000 in Community Rewards grants to celebrate the Nusenda Foundation’s 10th anniversary.
- A record 6,600 hours were volunteered by employees to causes that matter to our communities.
- Serving businesses with more than $220 million in new business loans, bringing the total business loan portfolio to almost $1.4 billion.
- Expansion of Nusenda’s Microloan program with more than $1.6 million loaned to empower entrepreneurs and individuals.
- National and local recognition as a top workplace, including being named a USA TODAY Top Workplace and the #1 Top Workplace (Large Company) by the Albuquerque Journal for the fourth time.
“This year’s Annual Meeting is especially meaningful as we celebrate 90 years of service to generations of members,” said Michelle Dearholt, President and CEO of Nusenda Credit Union. “I’m incredibly proud of what we accomplished in 2025, and as we look ahead, we remain committed to building on our legacy by putting members first, investing in our communities, and supporting people at every stage of their financial journey.”
During the meeting, Elsa Borrego was elected to a two‑year term, and Ann Brooks, Leigh Anne Chavez, and John Landis were elected to three‑year terms on Nusenda’s Board of Directors. All four bring extensive expertise to the credit union’s leadership team, and Elsa is Nusenda’s first board member in El Paso. Bios can be made available upon request.
Following the business portion of the meeting, Nusenda hosted a reception honoring longtime business and community partners, grant recipients, and special guests. The celebration highlighted the collective accomplishments of 2025 as well as nine decades of commitment to collaboration and community support.
