New Mexico's Tax-Free Weekend

New Mexico Taxation & Revenue Department has declared a Gross Receipts Tax Holiday to help families reduce back-to-school expenses. The tax holiday begins at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, August 4, 2023 and concludes on Sunday, August 6, 2023 at midnight. The following are some of the items that will be exempt from sales tax:

• Clothing sold for less than $100 per item (some exceptions apply)
• Computers sold for no more than $1,000
• Computer equipment for no more than $500
• School supplies for less than $30 per item (some exceptions apply)
