At Nusenda Credit Union, the health and well-being of our members, our employees, and the communities we serve is our top priority. With the news of New Mexico residents having tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19) and the directives from state authorities, Nusenda is taking steps to ensure members and employees remain as safe as possible.
Nusenda is dedicated to supporting existing community resources to fight this pandemic. In an effort to best align our resources, we have made a critical gift to the Emergency Response Funds at the Albuquerque Community Fund and United Way of Central New Mexico, The Santa Fe Community Fund The Taos Community Fund, and the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico.
Nusenda has also expanded our co-op capital program to help increase capacity support and access in disproportionately affected communities by addressing the economic impact of reduced and lost work and services due to the broader COVID-19 outbreak.
Lastly, Nusenda Credit Union will also provide flexible resources to organizations in our region working with communities who are disproportionately impacted by coronavirus and the economic slowdown of this outbreak. One-time operating grants or contracts will fund organizations that have deep connections in community and strong results working with residents without health insurance and or/access to sick days, healthcare and gig economy workers, economically challenged communities, and key services that meet the basic needs of kids and families.
We will continue to listen to community needs, help nonprofits maintain critical operations and support our most vulnerable employees, members and communities.
