Nusenda opens applications for 2023 Financial Education Innovation Awards
Albuquerque, N.M. – Today, Nusenda announced the 2023 application period for its Financial Education Innovation Award. This program began in 2018 to recognize educators who go above and beyond to improve financial well-being across New Mexico. These awards demonstrate Nusenda’s ongoing commitment to strengthening communities and investing in innovative solutions that improve education, health, social, and economic outcomes.
“Supporting educators and fostering programs that promote financial opportunity are core to our commitment to making a positive difference in New Mexico,” said Nusenda President and CEO Joe Christian. “We are grateful for the educators and organizations that are bring new ideas to life and pleased to sponsor their work.”
This year, the Credit Union plans to award a total of $20,000, with $15,000 designated for an organizational effort and five $1,000 classroom educators awards. The winners will be announced in April to celebrate Financial Literacy Month.
“These awards invest in organizations and educators who are impacting New Mexicans’ financial well-being in unique ways,” said Sara Keller, Nusenda’s Vice President of Community Engagement and Executive Director of the Nusenda Foundation. “If you are an educator or organization who needs a funding boost for an innovative idea, apply now.”
Organizations or individuals can be nominated by anyone in the community, and innovative educators are encouraged to self-nominate. Nominations are open from Feb 1 through Feb. 28, and applications open Feb 1 and March 10. For more information, visit the Nusenda Foundation website.
