December 12, 2023 - For Immediate Release
Albuquerque, N.M. – Nusenda Foundation recently announced its 2023 Community Rewards grant recipients. The Foundation awarded 108 recipients a total of $634,100 in funds for programs that are creating positive change and producing economic opportunities across New Mexico.
“We are pleased to provide financial support and continue our commitment to building long-lasting relationships with organizations that are also focused on making a difference in their community,” said Joe Christian, President and CEO at Nusenda Credit Union.
Sara Keller, Nusenda’s Vice President of Community Engagement and Executive Director of Nusenda Foundation, remarked, “Nusenda is proud to support these incredible organizations that are addressing important needs. We are grateful for the crucial work that they do daily to transform New Mexico.”
This annual grant program is funded through a financial collaboration between the Credit Union and its member-owners. When members make ten or more signature-based transactions each month with their Nusenda Visa® debit cards, they receive cash back and also contribute to Community Rewards grants. Members can choose to allocate their support geographically and specify one of five focus areas: education, healthcare, environment and wildlife, the arts, and community service. These funds are then directed through grants that support local nonprofit organizations strengthening and supporting New Mexico’s communities.
Last year, Nusenda and its members awarded $630,000 to 104 programs at 97 organizations. For the full list of this year’s recipients, visit www.nusendafoundation.org/community-rewards/community-rewards-recipients. To learn about prior grant-winners’ work, visit nusenda.org/community-rewards.
