The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is many students’ ticket to financial assistance for college. This webinar covers important details such as how the FAFSA works, deadlines, and the application process. This webinar is geared towards a teen audience but parents are also welcome to attend!

One of the most important numbers consumers have is their credit score: it affects the ability to purchase a home, buy a car, get a credit card, and other financial decisions—but it can also hinder them. This webinar reviews types of credit scoring models currently used including FICO, Vantage, non traditional, and bankruptcy risk. Participants will understand why these mathematical assessments were developed and how they can use them to their advantage.

Money Management Counseling

Schedule a BALANCE telephone counseling appointment anytime throughout the day or evening, weekdays and weekends. Each session lasts about an hour and can be conducted in English or Spanish.


Your counselor will work with you to determine your needs in these areas:

  • Money management
  • Goal setting
  • Budgeting
  • Savings plans
  • Debt repayment
  • Bankruptcy prevention
  • Home purchase
  • Avoiding foreclosure

Each 60-minute session is action-oriented and there is no limit to the number of sessions you can have, all complimentary. After each session, you'll receive a written action plan outlining the options, choices, rights, and responsibilities discussed during your counseling session.

Depending upon the amount of assistance you need, your toll-free call may last up to 30 minutes. After your call, you'll receive additional educational material by U.S. mail or email, or you can view and download relevant additional information from the BALANCE website.
