Celebrate Financial Literacy Month and boost your well-being

Since 2004, Financial Literacy Month has been recognized and celebrated across the nation. Over the years, it has been a pivotal time for many, as it encourages people to assess their attitudes towards their finances and take reasonable steps towards financial capability and freedom. As the financial conditions of our world continue to change, the need for people to strengthen their money management skills is stronger than ever before.

Some general financial literacy statistics include:

  • 75% of American teens report a lack of confidence in their financial knowledge.
  • 25% of Americans say they don’t have a specific person they can ask for trusted financial advice.
  • In 2020, 28% of adults reported they only had a financial cushion of one week’s worth of expenses.
  • An estimated 23% of U.S. adults aged 18 to 29 have credit card debt that’s overdue by 90 days.
  • Roughly 4% of adults shared they fell victim to some type of financial fraud in 2020.
  • In 2019, 17% of adults reported anxiety about retirement funds.
